Karan Johar’s epic and much loved Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, celebrates 11 years of its release at the box office. Released on the 14th of December 2001, the film enthralled the audiences worldwide with flawless performances and a very strong message- ‘It’s all about loving your parents’.
Karan Johar managed to get the dream star cast together on the silver screen that included Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. It was no surprise to see the family drama receiving fifteen nominations at the Filmfare Awards. Even after 11 years of its release, the film is showcased almost every weekend on television, is also the highest grosser of TRP’s and is watched by many on DVD over and over again.
Written and directed by Karan Johar, Dharma Productions’ Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was also screened at the International Film Festival of Marrakech recently as a tribute to the 100 glorious years of Indian cinema. Feeling nostalgic about celebrating 11 years of the release; KJo tweeted,
