The final shooting in Switzerland for the long awaited film Jab Tak Hai Jaan has been postponed, as a result of its director Mr Yash Chopra suffering from dengue fever. He was initially experiencing discomfort at Amitabh Bachchan’s 70th Birthday party and was resting at home until he was advised to go to hospital for a thorough check-up. It was there that Chopra was diagnosed with dengue fever. A spokesperson from Yash Raj Films however confirmed the following to a leading Indian newspaper: “He is feeling much better and should be home soon.”
Chopra was officially prepared to leave for Switzerland this week to shoot the final song for the film before its slated release on 13 November. However, his unforeseen illness has prompted the entire production team to halt shooting until he has restored to full health and understandably so. YRF’s spokesperson confirmed this to the same newspaper: “The shooting that was scheduled for Switzerland later this month has been postponed.” Since this was Chopra’s final shooting as a director, plans were made by the film’s assistant directors to make it a momentous occasion which he and the audience will never forget. Of course Chopra’s health is a priority and hence, filming will resume as soon as he is fit and ready to do so.”
From all of us here at Bollyspice, we wish Mr Yash Chopra a very speedy recovery!
