Lara Dutta hits the magic mark of 32 today and with Housefull about to be released the former Miss Universe is full of praise for her co-star Akshay Kumar. “I have seen Akshay right from the time I came into industry with Andaaz,” she says, “The film was a great debut for me and I couldn’t have asked for more. Over the years, I have seen him grow tremendously as an actor.”
Lara will hopefully have the chance to share some of her day with the new beau in her life, tennis star Mahesh Bhupati. On a high at the moment, both personally and professionally, Lara herself is deep into the promotional whirl for Housefull. How has the reception been so far for the comedy queen? “Oh, fabulous!” she exclaims, “The songs are a rage and I have got some absolutely lovely compliments for my look, so yes there is a positive buzz around the film.”
Lara has had Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai on hold for many months. Are we likely to see its release soon? “It has been delayed and now with Ravi Chopra’s health scare, everyone’s priority is his health,” she confirms, “Once that is sorted, the film will release.”
