Hrithik Roshan, one of the finest actors in Bollywood, is very choosy about which roles he says yes to and which he does not. One of the reasons for this ”choosiness” is that he wants to portray characters that challenge him artistically and that, well, just plain old scare him.
Roshan said, “I really want to do films that scare me so much that I won’t be able to afford it if they don’t fare well.”
Adding, “It is only when it seems to threaten the value of my job would I be consciously giving it my best.”
One of these roles is Akbar in the highly highly anticipated film, Jodhaa Akbar. Though playing the ruler was difficult from an acting standpoint there were some other difficulties involved, especially the costume of heavy jewelry and armor.
“How will you fight when you cannot even stand up? What if you fall with all that weight on you?” he said.
Jodhaa Akbar is set to release (keep your fingers crossed) on February 15th, with a grand music launch on January 9th.
