There is a saying that the show must go on and for his last three films Hrithik Roshan has taken that to heart. While working on Krrish, Hrithik tore a ligament in his knee, which is a very painful injury that requires time to heal. He did not rest and for his next film, Dhoom 2, he continued to work and do the stunts needed. One would think after those two action packed films he would take a break but the dedicated actor went right into shooting for Jodhaa Akbar. He again ignored the pain and his doctor’s order of ‘No strenuous movements or exercise’. However, now, Hrithik is finally heeding his doctor’s advice and is going to be taking a 6-week break from work in order to get treatment for the knee injury.

Hrithik said, “I think too much of abuse during Krrish and Dhoom 2 and some portions of Jodhaa Akbar where I had to do a lot of action stuff led to this. I basically succumbed to the notion that we’re all heroes and pain doesn’t matter.”

In order to get the treatment needed Hrithik has gone to Singapore for a series of physical therapy treatments and for a much needed rest. However, he says it is not in his nature to rest, “It’s very hard for me to do nothing. I have to force myself to rest! It’s the hardest thing for me to do. If you tell me that I have to run 24 hours a day for the next 10 days to make my knee better, I will do it, because I have something do! That’s a challenge for me. Resting is against my personality.”

The shoot for Jodhaa Akbar was very long and in the end he was exhausted but Hrithik says it was worth it, “The film has taken far longer than what we thought it would take, but then time is immaterial when you’re talking about climbing an Everest. Jodhaa Akbar for me is an Everest, so it doesn’t matter how much time it takes to conquer that peak, as long as we’ve achieved that task and that has been done. It has juiced me out completely and I can say that I deserve this little break now.”

We hope that his knee heals completely and he comes back rejuvenated. We cannot wait to see his performance in Jodhaa Akbar and for whatever role this fine actor portrays in his next project. In case you have not heard Jodhaa Akbar releases on January 25th.
