Chetan Bhagat’s globally successful novel “One Night @ the Call Centre,” which lifts the lid on India’s booming outsourcing industry is finally about to hit the big screen, having been delayed by the IPL series. Titled Hello…, this could well be the surprise hit of the year. The film stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sohail Khan, Amrita Arora, Isha Koppikar and a few other well known faces.
This is likely to be a career-defining role for Isha as it has great depth and characterization. Her career is currently booming with five releases lined up for this year. She graduated in Life Sciences and is well-known as an animal rights activist with PETA – she has particularly strong views on animals kept in cages.
A former Miss India, she moves freely between Tollywood and Bollywood, although it is her work in Bollywood for which she is perhaps best known, having appeared in movies such as Darna Marna Hai. She stole the show as a lesbian in Girlfriend and has since made impressive appearances in 36 China Town, Don, Salaam-e-Ishq and Darling.
How does she feel about the way her career is progressing? “I have grown as an actor,” she says. “I feel more confident. I have improved my look as I have groomed myself well. Lots of people have contributed to transform me and make me what I am now.”
