The Kollywood remake of Main Hoon Na hits the screens of Chennai this Diwali. Called Aegan, it stars Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara. The final song for the movie has just been completed in the Swiss Alps: “The movie’s screenplay has been altered slightly to suit Tamil sentiments and sensibility,” said a spokesman for the producers, “The post-production work is simultaneously underway to meet the release schedule.”

Nayanthara, who is Syrian Orthodox, is one of the most well-established actresses in the South. She worked with Ajith before in the very successful Billa and also appeared in Ghajini, Boss, E, Kuselan and Sathyam. Her real name is Diana and she was asked why she chose the name Nayanthara: “I wanted a name, which nobody would have in any state,” she explained, “Secondly I should not be identified with any state. The name should be universal. All the same I am a Keralite. My father’s name is Suriyan and mother’s name is Omana.”
