MIRA, ROYAL DETECTIVE – (Disney Junior)

Now playing on Disney and Disney Junior, is the fabulous series Mira, Royal Detective. Inspired by Indian culture, Mira, Royal Detective is set in the magical land of Jalpur, and the series introduces a brave and resourceful girl named Mira, a commoner who is appointed to the role of royal detective by the queen. The show features some of the top South Asian actors in Hollywood, including Jameela Jamil, Freida Pinto, Kal Penn, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Hannah Simone, Aasif Mandvi, Karen David and Aparna Nancherla. Mira, Royal Detective debuted on Disney Channel and Disney Junior on Friday, March 20.

One of the coolest things about the show is that Indian and Bollywood music and dance are an integral part of each episode. Much like a Bollywood film, the songs and dances take the story forward…which we all love. Acclaimed Bollywood choreographer Nakul Dev Mahajan serves as the series dance consultant and choreographer.

MIRA, ROYAL DETECTIVE

During the world premiere event for the series that was held at The Walt Disney Studios a few weeks ago, Nakul’s NDM Bollywood Dance Studios performed and dance instructor, Khushy Niazi, taught a Bollywood dance routine to the young children attendees. The joy on the faces of the kids is something so magical to see.

We now have a video of the wonderful Khushy teaching these kids a fabulous and fun Bollywood dance routine that can be done at home! We think it would be a fun way for families, the young and the young at heart at home to get up and exercise! As Nakul said in our interview, “Everyone needs a little bit of dance in their life! It makes life much happier.”

Also be sure to check out our fab interview with Nakul Dev Mahajan about the creation of the dances for the show here!
