Ekta Kapoor’s next venture The Dirty Picture is grabbing headlines not only because it’s subject matter, a biopic of the turbulent life of the hot star Silk Smitha, but also because of the first look posters, which had the Bollywood industry and even more so fans being totally wowed at star Vidya Balan’s look for the movie. The story travels through the life of Southern siren Silk Smitha who rose from being a simple make-up girl to a gorgeous movie diva. During a press conference Ekta said, “I would be surprised if I don’t get unbelievable critical acclaim for The Dirty Picture and a national award for my actress, Vidya Balan. The movie has one of the most well-written scripts I have come across and a lot of youngsters in my office have looked at it with great admiration.”
Other actors involved in the project are Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor. The film is set to release on 2nd December 2011 on the birth anniversary of Smitha.
