It all began with the with the tagline: “Metro… इन दिनों: When love, fate, and city life collide, magic is bound to happen” and filmi audiences could not wait for more. Then experiencing the trailer showcasing the stories of heart and hearing the music bringing feeling to life, and Metro… इन दिनों (Metro… In Dino) directed by Anurag Basu, has been on filmi fans’ ‘Can’t wait to see this’ filmi list.

When the film was announced, Bhushan Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director of T-Series, said, “Stitching a story out of parallel lives together in a film with a contemporary twist, none better than dada (Anurag Basu) could helm this ship. While he brings about the magic with a gripping story, Pritam will be adding his charm with the music, enhancing the experience entirely.”

Let’s set the scene with the trailer:

Experiencing all they have shared so far, Anurag Basu’s Metro… इन दिनों seems will it be cinema meets poetry. Every frame, every heart, every unspoken emotion plays out to bring us deep into the dil, the pyaar, ishq and mohabbat, of the world of Metro… इन दिनों.

The incredible cast of Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Neena Gupta brings the realness of emotional heart to life on the reel. Delivering performances that are at times subtle and at other times overflowing with strong emotion, they form a tapestry of emotions: the awkwardness of young love, the regret of lost time, and the courage to try again.

From what we have been told, every character arc intertwined has a deeper meaning, and every crossing of paths is magic or a ‘cosmic nudge’… if you will. Basu’s use of this hyperlink format isn’t gimmicky—it’s organic. As you watch, you will come away with the sense that life is not linear, but circular. That strangers may be the ones holding the answers to questions you haven’t even asked yet. Intrigued? We are too!

Then there’s Pritam’s score—rich, warm, and immersive. It doesn’t intrude; it enhances and embraces the heart. Each track with every note is a tale of the many sides and phases of love, and certainly makes everyone want to see more of the story to come.

Basu said earlier, “As music plays a very important role in any film, I couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with my dear friend Pritam, who has literally added life to the characters and story with his work.”

One of the best things is that Metro… इन दिनों showcases that cinema still has space for quiet, contemplative stories. And in doing so, it speaks volumes.
