Fans of the cult 2008 film Rock On!! may be in for some welcome news. Director Abhishek Kapoor has admitted he has a couple of ideas for a sequel that he is currently working on, despite having several other projects underway.
Talk of a possible sequel comes following Rock On!! being awarded Best Hindi Film at the 56th National Film Awards, and a resulting revival of interest in the film.
Kapoor says: “I didn’t want to rush into a sequel just because it was a commercially viable thing to do. The sequel had to stand on its own feet and not just be a carryover of the original. I now have a couple of ideas which I am working on”.
If a sequel goes ahead, it looks like it would be with the involvement of the original cast. Farhan Akthar has said “I’m all for it” and Arjun Rampal, who won a National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film, never stopped the guitar lessons he undertook for his role and has become quite a skilled player. So it may not be long before Rock On!! fans are rocking out again.
