In a first of its kind, producer Ekta Kapoor has turned actress.
Only a few days back, she put on the greasepaint for 8 hours to shoot a special episode of C.I.D. (Sony TV) in which she plays herself.
Ekta is known to detest making appearances on chat shows and serials despite a flurry of offers from broadcasters, but she made this truly rare exception only to promote her keenly anticipated Ragini MMS.
The theme of the special episode is around Ragini MMS and is likely to be telecast on Friday, the 13th of May, when the sensuous paranormal thriller releases nationwide.
When Kapoor reached the sets to shoot, she bumped into a number of unit members and actors, who had started their career with Balaji years back. “It was nice to see a string of familiar faces. They were so nervous to shoot with me,” laughs Ekta.
When asked, if she would make more regular appearances on television, she snaps, “No, I’ve only done this for Ragini!”
Having managed a coup of sorts, Sony TV has planned a major promotional campaign around Ekta’s appearance on C.I.D to promote Ragini MMS.
