It has only been in stores for about a week but already Raj&Pablo’s Love Bollywood compilation album is a hit. In fact, it is number one on the iTunes World music charts! It also entered at number 25 on the UK Top 40 Compilation Chart, which is a first. Seems Raj&Pablo have taken Bollywood music mainstream!
The double CD is unique because not only is it for Bollywood fans but it is also geared towards newcomers to the magic of Bollywood. In an earlier interview with Bollyspice they said, “It’s for Bollywood lovers, but it’s also for people who have never encountered Bollywood. It’s their access point to come in. So, the tracks that we chose are the ones that work on our club night and tracks that our listeners like, and above all, what we felt was good as well.”
Love Bollywood is filled with 33 fabulous tracks from the world of Bollywood and ranges from cool tunes, to soft ballads, to dance around your kitchen mixes! As they told us in our pre-release interview with them, “Bollywood music is different things to different people. It does evoke a certain type of emotion and if you are having a great day it will make you feel like dancing. If you having a day where you kind of want to reflect and listen to this massive orchestra and some beautiful lyrics you can. I think it is all things to everybody. With the compilation if you want the heart wrenching string orchestra it is there. If you want the big disco beats its there, if you want the Punjabi feel with ‘Singh is Kingg’ that is there. There is something for everyone.”
