The Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajnikanth Tamil film Robot has run into a bit of trouble. It seems that director S Shankar had to change the title of the film to Enthiram, which is Tamil for robot. The reason for the change? Shah Rukh Khan. His production house, Red Chilies Entertainment, has laid claim to the title Robot and 9 others with Robot in them.
A source told DNA, “Shankar couldn’t have gone ahead with Robot as it is said that Shah Rukh has already registered all the names around it. So he had no other option but to change his film’s title.” SRK registered the titles with the AMPTPP (Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers).
It should be noted that originally SRK was considered for the lead but he was unable to do the film. We will have to wait and watch to see if we will someday see King Khan in a film by the name of Robot. Or perhaps one of the other titles registered: Mein Hoon Robot, Mera Robot, Pyara Robot, Robot a Hero, Robot Hoon Mein, Robot My Hero, Robotics and Robott.
S Shankar, director of the Tamil mega hit Sivaji: The Boss which also starred Rajnikanth, has a huge budget in place for Enthiram, a whopping Rs 140 crore. Filming is already underway and will be shot partially in Brazil and Peru.
We will be sure to report on all the news on Enthiram so watch this space for more.
