Salim-Sulaiman are known in Bollywood for their outstanding musical scores and soundtracks and now they are garnering notice for their work outside of Bollywood. The two have been nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Original Song- Children’s and Animation category. The song that is up for the award is ‘We Like Being Small’ which appeared in The Wonder Pets, a animated children’s show on Nickelodeon.
Each episode of the show uses a different composer from around the world and Salim told Bollywood Hungama, “This time they have an episode where the Wonder Pets save the Bengal Tiger. So they wanted to cast some composer from India. That’s where we come in. We have gotten very good feedback from the producers, they were very happy.” Both say they are thrilled that the song has been nominated for the prestigious award!
The two have some very big projects in the pipeline and Sulaiman says it is one of the busiest times they have had in their career. “We are quite excited. We have a lot of good releases coming up this year. We are doing the background score for Kites now. We have Koochie Koochie Hota Hai, the other animation film. We have Luck. We have the untitled-titled Jehaad, the Karan Johar Production. We are doing Pyaar Impossible as well. So, there is a wide variety of films we are doing and in every film you will hear a different type of music.”
The two are planning on attending the Emmy Ceremony in LA on August 30th. We wish them the best of luck and will be sure to bring you a full report!
