Salman Khan had a set back today in his bid to be released on bail until his appeal goes before a higher court. The judge G K Vyas who was to hear the case, recused himself because he had prior involvement in the case against the actor. He was part of the team of lawyers that worked for the prosecution; he in fact represented the vet who examined the chinkara.
The case was then transferred to Judge HR Panwar, however since it was not on his docket he postponed the hearing and will hear the case tomorrow.
A source said, “Chances are high that the case is taken up tomorrow. However, if the court calls for records from lower courts before hearing the plea then Salman will have to be in jail till Sep 3 as the court does not sit on Friday and Saturday and Sunday is a holiday.”
