Shahid Kapoor, is one of Bollywood’s up and coming stars, with each film he proves his talent once again and never more so than in last year’s, Jab We Met. He recently was at a launch of a style magazine and talked a bit to CNN-IBN about movies and the kind of girl he would like.

Shahid has not been seen at many events lately and when asked, “Where have you been?” He replied, “Yes, that is what a lot of people have been saying. I hardly go out and yes, I am quite a boring guy.”

Talk then turned to his blockbuster hit of last year, Jab We Met and he said, “A lot of things were said before the film released and there was also a lot of speculation on whether the film would do well because of various reasons. But if you make a good film then it would always do well. And that is what eventually happened.”

For his role as Aditya, he said he did have to prepare to play someone with the problems the character had at the beginning of the movie, “In Jab We Met the guy had a lot of baggage before the film started so I had to spend a little time with the character to try and figure out what is it that kept him so quiet, so introverted. Because that is not how I am.”

So does he have any baggage? “We all have baggages, don’t we? But I am not as depressed as Aditya, I am quite happy actually,” he laughingly answered.

As to what is next in the pipeline Shahid said, “My next release is Kismat Konnection , which has been directed by Aziz Mirza. It’s a romantic comedy and I am very excited about it because it has turned out quite well. It stars me and Vidya Balan and we had good fun shooting the film. I hope people will like the film too.”

Finally on to the topic that all his fans are waiting for, what type of girl does he like, “I think the most important thing for me, being an actor and in the field I am, is whoever I am with should be themselves. I think when somebody meets me for who they are and who I am, rather than where I am, what I am, that is what is important.”
