Besides making waves in the musical world Suraj has another cool honor. He is the only Indian artist to be featured in the Official YouTube – Join the Celebration – John Lennon’s 70th Birthday Tribute.
To celebrate the occasion of John Lennon’s 70th Birthday on Oct 9th 2010, EMI, Yoko Ono and YouTube conducted a call for testimonials about John Lennon by music artists, public figures and his fans from around the world. Suraj Jagan along with other artists from India were requested to tape a 1 to 3-minute video statement, (iPhone, flip cam, digital camera or digital camcorder) to share what John Lennon meant to them, what they love about John Lennon, their favourite John Lennon song, or any special memory they may have of John and his music, all in celebration of what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday.
YouTube launched this special on the 9th Of Oct, featuring testimonials from artists from all over the world. To Suraj’s surprise, he was the only Indian artist that was featured alongside: Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr, Dave Mustaine, The Jonas Brothers, Heart, Aerosmith etc. etc….
In his testimonial, Suraj mentions how John Lennon inspired him to write his own original songs & mentioned that ‘Hard Days Night’ was among his favourite songs till date.
