Producer of Slumdog Millionaire, Christian Colson, has decided to plan a stage musical of the Oscar winning movie. The musical will be a reproduction of the film but will be conducted in a true Broadway fashion. He has also gone on record to state that the funds generated from the musical will completely be “ploughed” back into the slums, ensuring a better future for all slum children including those who have starred in the movie. Over 3.6 crores (million) rupees has already been produced by a fund created by the filmmakers for the children. The actor children of the movie have been “safeguarded” so they are “not left to fight life’s battles on their own.”

The children are currently enjoying their stay in the United States after attending the prestigious Oscar awards, where the movie swept the ceremony bagging eight awards. They were taken to Universal Studios and Disneyland where they are said to have had a whale of a time. After a fun afternoon, the children came back to the hotel only to jump into the pool “fully clothed.”

The youngsters were welcomed by all celebrities on the red carpet. While the younger ones were busy clicking pictures and giving interviews, Madhur Mittal, who played Dev Patel’s brother in the movie, was approached by Will Smith himself. Needless to say, Mittal was star struck.

The children of the movie deserved all the accolades they are receiving as they were the true heroes of Slumdog Millionaire. As for the musical, watch out for it in a city near you!
