Tanushree Dutta is desperate to be taken seriously as an actor. “I want to be seen more on screen. But, my recent break from the big screen has been pretty long,” she says. I look forward to release of my films Saas Bahu aur Sensex and Rama the Saviour this year and hope to get recognition. I want to be taken seriously as an actress.”

However, Tanushree is not well-versed in the art of public relations. Her recent ridiculing of Shona Urvashi, the director of Saas Bahu aur Sensex, Warner Bros first venture into Bollywood, in public does not represent the united front that producers like to see when launching a movie.

Tanushree said she had no confidence in Shona. “Shona Urvashi’s first film, Chupke Se was a disaster,” she says, “Nobody knows about her first film. This is her second film. I hope she makes a better film this time.” Tanushree had arguments with the director on set, hasn’t seen the film, and doubts that it will shape up well. So, let’s all queue up immediately, shall we?

So why did Tanushree sign up for the movie? “I signed because Warner Brothers, who are producing the film, had approached me. Warner Brothers is an international giant; so I could not refuse them,” she explains.

Tanushree plays a completely different character in fantasy-based Ramu The Saviour. “I have put in my honest efforts for this movie. For the action scenes, I learnt martial arts. I also got injured a few times while shooting, but I loved every bit of it. I hope that the people accept me in this movie,” she says.
