Mother of Amitabh Bachchan, Teji Bachchan, passed away at the age of 93 after being admitted to the Leelavati Hospital in Bandra early this year. The Bachchan family has often expressed their concern for Teji and visited her frequently.
In an official statement, a senior official stated, “Teji Bachchan expired today afternoon. She was unwell for a long time, conditions got worse.” Fellow industry members like Ajay Devgan, Rishi Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh have visited the family to offer their condolences. The funeral will take place on Friday.
During her younger years, she was a social activist that was particularly close with the political Gandhi family. Her husband passed away in 2003.
