Filmmakers with over-budgeted products are conjuring every possible gimmick to enhance their revenues. The makers of Prabhas’ The Raja Saab have come up with the idea of with-holding some scenes and a song on release date January 9, to be added after a few weeks.
An actor from the Raja Saab cast spills the beans. “They are keeping aside some sequences, one is with Prabhas smoking a cigar , the other is a song, and a few other scenes.”
The Cigar sequence has a censorial history of its own. Apparently, the Central Board Of Film Certification objected to a national icon setting the wrong example by smoking on screen. The Raja Saab makers had to convince the CBFC of how relevant Prabhas’ cigar-smoking sequence was to the narrative.
The producers intend to add footage of 7-8 minutes duration once the film gets a foothold over the footfalls. The film, so far, has attracted an underwhelming attention , especially the Hindi dubbed version which has sparked almost zero attention.
Explains trade expert Taran Adarsh, “The Hindi version of Raja Saab may be witnessing muted ground-level buzz. The film is firmly on course for its scheduled release on 9 January 2026.The subdued hype can largely be attributed to limited promotional activity in the Hindi markets so far. As a result, awareness beyond the core fan base is yet to reach its full potential.”
