The writing team of Vivek Sharma, Shyam Goel and Sudhanshu Dube have served a legal notice to Vashu Bhagnani for copyright infringement of their script for the upcoming Kal Kisne Dekha.

Sharma, who is also the director of the film, along with Goel and Dube are taking the producer to the High Court and are prepared for a legal battle. They also plan to ask that the film not be released as scheduled on June 12 until the matter is resolved. Earlier they had approached Bhagnani but the matter was ignored so now they feel they have no option but to take it to court.

According to a press release sent to us from Picture N Kraft, “The script is the intellectual property of the trio Vivek Sharma, Shyam Goel and Sudhanshu Dube. They have not assigned and or transferred the rights to anyone and are the sole owner of all rights associated with the story, screenplay and dialogue of Kal Kisne Dekha.

But Vashu Bhagnani has infringed their copyrights and therefore the writing team has served a legal notice for the same. After much persuasion on the matter on personal level the matter was delayed by Mr. Bhagnani and not paid attention to at all.

In his capacity as the director of the film, Vivek Sharma is extremely hurt as he has always been extremely supportive to see the film have a smooth release, and earlier when the film was supposedly releasing in the month of May 2009, he did put his extreme efforts to put this across to Mr. Vashu Bhagnani but in vain.

After sincere efforts they decided to serve a legal notice to Vashu Bhagnani and his Puja films for the same. The reply has to be given within 24 hours or else the next legal step will be decided.”
