With a very heavy heart, we present our tribute to one of Bollywood’s finest music composers, Aadesh Srivastava, who sadly lost his battle with cancer. Our heartfelt condolences to the entire Srivastava and Pandit family. Aadeshji has two sons, Avitesh and Anivesh, with his wife Vijayta Pandit, who is sister of the famous Music Director duo Jatin-Lalit.

Aadeshji was not only a music director but also a background score composer. He gave the background score to many films, such as Humraaz, Ye Hai Jalwa and Paheli, the latter being one of our favorite and most noted background scores.

Before we take a look at our favourite songs composed by Aadeshji, here are some special tributes from his colleagues within the music industry that have had the chance to work with him and meet him over the years:

Himesh Reshammiya – Music Director/Singer/Actor/Producer

“It’s very sad to hear about Aadesh Ji, we will miss him and his songs always. We shared some great moments together in the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa TV show on ZeeTV. May God bless his soul”.

Mayur Puri – Screenplay writer/Lyricist/Dialogue writer

“Aadeshji has passed away so suddenly and shockingly. I met him for the first time very recently, just a few months ago. He wanted me to write a song for him. I was a bit surprised that he called me directly, on his own, because he was such a senior composer. But when I met him at his studio in Juhu, it was such a pleasant experience. He was very positive and forthcoming. Full of enthusiasm and bubbling energy. He wanted to do new things and no amount of sickness seemed to slow him down, it seemed. It’s just unfortunate that we could never complete the project as his health dwindled thereafter and I was informed that he won’t be well soon. But I never thought he’ll just leave us all like this. I still remember my last meeting with him. He was happy, smiling and quite full of life at that moment. He was sitting in his car and going on a long drive. He said ‘Let me come back and we’ll rock it!’ That never happened. But I’m sure he’ll rock the heavens now! God bless his soul!”

Arya Acharya – Rapper and Music Producer

“I have worked with Aadesh Srivastav in couple of projects. The last we worked together was for 2 films back to back “Hari Puttar” and “Mummy Punjabi”, I had a great time working with him as a Rapper and a Music Producer. He always had great musical ideas while we had Song Programming and Dubbing sessions. He used to breath Music, sad to hear of his early demise. The Indian Music Industry has lost a very talented Musician, hope his equally talented son Avitesh takes his Father’s Musical legacy ahead…God bless !!”

Aman Trikha – Talented and Popular playback singer

I remember the very first meeting with Aadeshji in a music award function some years back and I went to seek his blessings, with my parents as I saw him there. And he told my parents –
“Aapka beta bahot acchaa gaata hai aur bahot naam kamaayega, Bahot jald main bhi gawaa raha hoon isey. God bless you Beta” And he patted my back giving me blessings. I sang many songs, jingles composed by him and performed with him in numerous shows in India and abroad. I really feel fortunate and blessed to have worked with him and learned so much. His happy-go-lucky friendly attitude made him ‘King of Hearts’ among all! It’s still unbelievable to me that he’s no more with us. My heart wrenched out when I heard this dreaded news. But he’ll always be in my heart, I got so much of love, support, blessings and mentoring from him. God bless His Divine Soul to Rest In Peace forever…Miss You Aadeshji. Love You Always… Prayers!

Nitz n Sony – Music Directors

“If music be the food of love, play on, Give me excess of it; that surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die.” ― William Shakespeare, Twelfth Night. May God Bless Adeshji’s soul with eternal peace & give his family, friends & fans; the strength to bear the loss.. You will be missed 🙁 “The song is ended, but the melody lingers on…” Irving Berlin Big Respect Sir! Nitz ‘N’ Sony (Nitin Arora & Sony Chandy)

A special thank you to the above musicians for sharing some of their personal and priceless memories with us.

Aadeshji not only composed for a variety of films but had more than one genre to his sound. He could sing and compose a modern, funky song like ‘Gustakiyan’ from Aankhen, but then also sing and compose the semi-classical ‘Mora Piya’ from Raajneeti. He also worked with several international artists such as Akon, Shakira and Wycleaf Jean during his career.

We have selected some of our most favourite songs that have been composed by Aadeshji.
