Its raining sequels in B-Town, and no one knows this better than Sonakshi Sinha, who was made to choose between two sequels she was offered.
We all know that producer Arbaaz Khan is gearing up to direct the sequel to Dabangg in March 2012, but also that Abbas Mustan are scheduling Race 2 shooting around the same time. It is the very clash of the shooting times that made it impossible for Sonakshi to be a part of both projects which she was offered and wanted to be a part of.
“It was unfortunate that I had to opt out of ‘Race 2‘. I was really looking forward to it. But when the dates of ‘Race 2‘ were shifted forward I couldn’t be part of the film as the shooting for the sequel of ‘Dabangg‘ was to begin from March,” Sonakshi was quoted saying to a leading newspaper.
Well Sonakshi, you win some and you lose some. Date clashes can be a blessing and a curse and what it exactly is for Sonakshi will be decided when we finally see the result of the two films at the box office.
Apart from the original jodi of Salman and Sonakshi, no other cast members have been confirmed for Dabangg 2. All that is known thus far is that the film is scheduled to be a Christmas release and that director Abhinav Kashyap is no longer directing, being replaced by Arbaaz Khan. Race 2 on the other hand will be hitting the screen a month prior to Dabangg 2 in November, and will star a huge ensemble cast consisting of Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.
