Thousands of people from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and Malaysia, plan to break into a Bollywood dance frenzy at the same time, to break a Guinness world record this week, reports BBC News.

At least 2,000 people are expected to join the Bollywood routine in London itself, at the Victoria Embankment Gardens, raising money for cancer support.

Event organizer Shamela Kylassum, who has put the event together in memory of Sophie Parr from Somerset who died from cancer at the age of 24, says she never imagined such an encouraging response to her Bollywood dance concept.

“It just sort of snowballed. People started inviting everyone they knew, and it got bigger and bigger,” she told BBC. What’s more! Participants are expected to also dance to a Pussycat Dolls’ version of AR Rahman’s Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire.

“This kind of idea and response to a Bollywood jig abroad is better than many of our stars ending up with two-bit roles in Hollywood movies,” remarked Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar.

“While Bollywood often tends to look towards the West to increase celeb-quotient here in India, this is a clear example of how much the West is crazy about Bollywood,” he added.
