Uber-professional Aamir Khan was said to have been stunned recently when Asin rebelled against the tight restrictions placed on her interactions with the media regarding her role in Ghajini. As the senior partner in the project, he expects her to toe the line with regard to his rules about keeping as much of the film a secret as possible before its release. But Asin felt he had gone too far: “Although Asin is extremely fond of Aamir, she had an argument with him recently,” said a source, “It all stemmed from the fact that Aamir has stopped her from interacting with the media, making public appearances or attending any events. Asin has been getting a lot of attention as she has a meaty role in the upcoming movie Ghajini and she has also signed the ambitious London Dreams opposite Salman Khan.”
Meanwhile, Asin has been talking about her own need for perfection in a project: “I’m very excited about both Ghajini and London Dreams,” she explains, “I’ve a long list of criteria for selecting a role, beginning with the director, banner and co-star and ending with the cinematographer. I want them all to be just right. Am I being greedy? Perhaps. I’m sorry. I can’t settle for anything but the best.”
As well as Ghajini and London Dreams, the Pokkiri actress has also signed up for The 19th Step, a project which also stars Kamal Hassan and Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano. It’s said that she will play the role of an Indian princess in the martial arts-based film that will be made in English, Tamil and Japanese.
