Vivek Agnihotri’s Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal starring John Abraham Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Bipasha Basu is all set to release on November 23rd. The idea for the story about a football team that has to fight against many obstacles to become a championship team originated from a true story. Forty years ago there was a plane crash and on that flight were eight of Manchester United’s players. All eight of the players were killed and their manager Matt Busby was injured. After his recovery, Busby started again with all new players and they went on to become an incredible team that won many interantional tournaments.

Agnihotri said, “My film is not about the tragedy per se. The tragedy is a potent story in itself. It (the film) is about a team that is completely finished, a wash out and how they rise from the ashes to win the next big match.”

The film’s football club Southall United is a group of British Asians of all different skill levels and personalities. Boman Irani plays the coach of the team, Arsahd Warsi plays the captain and Bipasha Basu is the physiotherapist for the team. John Abraham’s character is a brilliant footballer that because of the color of his skin was fired from the English team. He then joins Southall and their battle to become a great team begins.

Agnihotri also said about his new film, “It is nothing exceptionally or creatively different. It’s a very simple story, told very simply. It’s a story of very simple people. The only thing is that it speaks about the ordinary people in an extraordinary situation. It’s about the triumph of the human spirit.”
