it'sentertainmentposterEntertainment is an upcoming comedy starring Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia in the leading roles. Directed by duo Sajid-Farhad, the film is scheduled to release on 8 August and promises to be a fun-filled ride. The music has been composed by Sachin-Jigar, who have composed songs for films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Ramaiya Vasavaiya. The lyrics have been penned by Mayur Puri. So does the music Entertainment have anything entertaining to offer? Read on to check out our verdict.

To kick start the album, we have ‘Veerey Di Wedding,’ sung by the amazing Mika Singh. I think the vocals have been performed to a top standard by Mika and it blends well with the techno- themed composition. Though the song is by no means remarkable, you find yourself feeling the rhythm of this one and hence, it has a certain catch to it that may be enjoyed by many listeners. There is also a remix version of this song, which is not as interesting, in contrast to the original version. I think this is largely due to the remixed music, which is just annoying and unparalleled to the original. Try both of them out and see for yourself!

Next we have ‘Tera Naam Doon’ by Atif Aslam and Shalmali Kholgade. I very much like how the flute has been executed during the opening of the song, which gives a different feel to it. The song then shifts to smoother sounds, with Atif and Shalmali singing their hearts out to this romantic number. Though Atif’s voice stands out more in this song nevertheless, Shalmali does her best with the portions that have been allocated to her. ‘Tera Naam Doon’ is not the best romantic track to come out this year, but it’s still decent enough to garner appreciation amongst many.

Following this we have ‘Johnny Johnny,’ which has been performed by Jigar, Priya Panchal and Madhav Krishna. The song was plain boring to listen to, despite the fact that it is an upbeat composition with the use of various sounds like drums, bass, as well as techno mixes that have been thrown into it. It has no appeal to it whatsoever and you’ll find yourself really wanting to push the skip button in order to escape from this dreadful song.

Teri Mahima Aprampaar’ is next and has been performed by Anushka Manchanda and Udit Narayan. The song has a strong Punjabi rhythm to it, with the intention for it to be a pulsating number. Sadly however, it does not go down quite well and I just felt it was poorly arranged and lacking in the flavours needed for a likable track.  Give it a miss as it’s nothing special!

Finally we have ‘Nahin Woh Saamne,’ sung by Atif Aslam. It’s a very short track, with a length of just 1 minute and 49 seconds. I like the use of the guitar in this one, which feels relaxing, though the length of the song spoils it. It is essentially a very slow version of ‘Tera Naam Doon,’ and you realise it as soon as it hits the main chorus.

To sum up, I was left disappointed with the soundtrack to Entertainment. With the exception of ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ and ‘Tera Naam Doon,’ the rest were just poorly composed and lacking in the spices which make a very energetic and pungent Bollywood soundtrack. Sorry to say, but the music to Entertainment is tedious and Sachin-Jigar could have done better.
