Amrita Puri, the beautiful actress that was last seen in her memorable role in India’s first chick-flick Aisha that received great reviews for the look of the film and the buzz it created for its style. However reviews for Amrita’s performance were definitely much more than decent, having garnered quite the number of nominations the most recent being the IIFA awards.
The challenge for an actor that plays the lead role is not much compared to the immense task it is for a supporting actor to shine in a movie. Yet Amrita has done so successfully, her performance was described by leading critics as “heartwarming” (Times of India), a “real surprise” (Press Trust of India) and “steals the film” (Rajeev Masand, CNN-IBN). The year 2010 has most surely been a big year for her, she’s won the “Best Breakthrough Performance” award at the Stardust awards and has been nominated for “Best Actress in a suporting Role” Zee Cine Awards and Star Screen Awards. For the ’56th Filmare Awards’ she was nominated in 2 categories best debut and best supporting.
The present looks bright for Amrita Puri and the future only brighter, as she climbs up B-towns stairway to fame.
