The very successful counterpart of UK’s Pop Idol, the third season of Indian Idol, is about to start up a storm this coming May. After giving two successful seasons, the third instalment promises much bigger and better things. For the first time, the show has set up auditions for possible international contestants in the city of Dubai. Sony Entertainment Television has also put together a SMS service for easy registration.
Ever since its debut, Indian Idol has been the most entertaining show in television. The show attracts audiences with its array of emotions, drama, music, humour, glamour and edge of the seat suspense. It has it all and this year it promises all this and much more. As before, season three will award one talented contestant with a recording contract with Sony BMG, a contract with Sony Entertainment Television worth 1 crore rupees and the coveted title of being named an Indian Idol.
The show will also see a change in judges as Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan have been replaced with two of Bollywood’s talented singers, Udit Narayan and Alisha Chinoi; Anu Malik will return to join the duo. Also TV actor, Hussain Khuwajirwala, has been roped in to join Mini Mathur in hosting the show.
