Based on the initial years of one of the most famous mystic gurus in the world, ‘Rebellious Flower’ is all set to release on 15th January 2016. Rebellious Flower is the first ever biopic inspired by the life and vision of Osho Rajneesh and is backed by the Osho Foundation, Pune. Directed by Krishan Hooda, the film won a ‘Special Mention Jury Award’ at Salento International Film Festival held in Tricase, Italy 2015.
‘Rebellious Flower’ shows the story of a young boy, Raja, living in a remote village of central India with his maternal grandmother and grandfather, who has inborn fire for asking questions and is gifted with deep underlying clarity to accept only the right answers. After the demise of his grandfather, they leave the village and start living in a remote house at the outskirts of a small country town. As Raja grows up – he passes through all the turns and twists of a normal life. But his underlying questions about meaning of life make him stumble upon three mysterious mentors which eventually changes his perception about inquiry into eternal mystery of existence.
Talking about the film, producer and writer, Jagdish Bharti, said, “We are happy to present ‘Rebellious Flower’ to the Indian audience and it’s a fitting co-incidence that the film will be releasing close to the death anniversary of Osho Rajneesh guru. We hope that the film will truly inspire its viewers to explore something beyond from the happiness and pain of the mundane world.
Speaking on the release of the movie, director Krishan Hooda, said, “Indian audiences never got the see the journey of one of the most important spiritual figures of our times- Osho Rajneesh on celluloid. I am delighted that I got to tell the story through my vision and sensibility. We are sure the audience will connect with this universally inspiring story.”
The film was shot in real locations of Madhya Pradesh where Osho grew up and spent time with his maternal grandparents. Rebellious Flower will be releasing across India on 15th January 2016.
