If you were offered an eight figure sum for your life story what would you do? Most of us would jump for joy and start thinking of ways to spend the money. Very few among us would actually turn it down. That is exactly what Milkha Singh did.

Milkha, the winner of the gold medal at Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, UK in 1958 and also winner of gold medals in 200m and 400m races at Tokyo Asian Games, sold his story to director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for Rs1.

The announcement of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has already got the names of several actors attached to the project to play the lead with the front runners being Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan.

When asked for his preference, Milkha Singh stated his choice was Kumar.

“I strongly feel that my role should be played by Akshay Kumar. Being a Punjab da puttar, he has the right physique and also acts well,” Milkha, popularly known as ‘The Flying Sikh’, is quoted saying by a tabloid.

With the story to be written by Prasoon Joshi, Mehra has stated that he will finalize the actor only after the script is finished. Let’s wait and see who runs away with this role.
