Aamir Khan, very much enjoying his year’s sabbatical, will be taking on the role of acolyte in New Delhi when he meets up with the world’s highest-grossing director James Cameron for a conclave on film-making. This will be Cameron’s first visit to India and it’s clear that Aamir will be picking his brains for tips on marketing and distribution in the west.

Aamir has ambitions to broaden his footprint globally and is likely to be working with Danny Boyle and Anurag Kashyap on the Bombay Velvet project. Increasingly donning the cap of producer, Aamir will also be looking forward to three releases from his production company this year – Peepli Live, Dhobi Ghat and Delhi Belly.

James Cameron, meanwhile, still basking in the success of Avatar, is beginning to work on the manga-inspired Battle Angel which tells the story of Alita, a 26th century cyborg. Amongst other future Cameron projects might be remakes of Forbidden Planet and Fantastic Voyage and the next episode in the Terminator series – Terminator 5.
