Karisma Kapoor 51st birthday is a very quiet affair. The death of her former husband Sanjay Kapur has spread a pall of gloom over the family’s celebrations.
A prominent member of the Kapoor clan tells this writer, “Sure, Sanjay Kapur and Karisma were separated. But their children, especially their son, have taken their father’s sudden death very badly. Karisma’s sister and brother-in-law Kareena and Saif had planned a big party for Karisma’s birthday with the entire Kapoor khandaan present for the occasion. After what has happened, Karisma is no mood to celebrate her birthday this year. She will do a temple visit with her children.”
Sanjay Kapur and Karisma separated officially in 2016 after being legally married for thirteen years. The marriage had ended for all practical purposes long before, with allegations of domestic violence and extra marital affairs flying in the air.
