For the soundtrack of Taare Zameen Par director Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao have sung together for one of the songs. The soundtrack is by the great trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and the tune their voices can be heard on is ‘Bheja Kum’ a fusion of rock and rap.

Shankar said, “Yes, it is true that Kiran and Aamir have sung a few lines in the song. It is in a dialogue form but there’s a rhythm to it. It’s a fun-filled song that is very apt for generation next. It’s not only Kiran and Aamir but also singers like Bugs Bhargav, Shankar Sachdev, Raj Gopal Iyer, Ravi Khanwilker, Loy, Ram Madhvani and I who have sung this song together.”

He added that he felt that both Aamir and Kiran’s voices were perfect for the track, “Kiran can be a very good singer. Her voice is soft and velvety and it was just right for ‘Bheja Kum’. There’s also some childlike quality in her voice. Even Aamir’s voice for that matter! We felt that his voice really suited the song.”

Shankar also said that ‘Bheja Kum’ is a children’s song, “We enjoyed recording it. And children are also enjoying listening to it. The song is the highlight of Taare Zameen Par .”
