Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao were blessed with a boy on 1st December 2011 through IVF-surrogacy. The pair announced the arrival of the baby boy through a press statement.
“It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty. Due to medical complications, we were advised to have a baby through IVF-surrogacy, and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well. We are humbled by the greatness of God, the miracles of science, and the kindness and love of our families and friends in being there for us while respecting our privacy. We seek your good wishes and blessings for our child,” said the statement.
Aamir had previously announced on his blog that he and Rao lost their baby due to miscarriage. He also mentioned that it was a struggle for him to cope with the news and that he needed time to heal. This is also one of the reasons the news was kept under the wraps.
Kunal Kohli, who worked with Khan in Fanaa congratulated the parents on the child via Twitter: “Congrats Aamir and Kiran. Lots of love to you and your lil baby boy. So so happy for all 3 of you. (sic)”
Khan received thousands of congratulatory messages on the popular social networking site from his fans.
