Aamir Khan tops this year’s Filmfare Power List for actors and overall – thanks to the 265cr that Ghajini has taken worldwide, making it the biggest grossing Bollywood movie ever – if you don’t count Slumdog Millionaire. He also comes top of the Director’s list, although the Chopras – Aditya and Yash – still edge him out as top Producers. Aamir comes second in this list, however, thanks to Taare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.

In second place overall lies Shahrukh Khan with the Chopras in third. Ronnie Screwvala’s rise to number four in the list is a tribute to the hardworking UTV crew who have produced such good movies this year as Jodhaa Akbar, A Wednesday, Welcome to Sajjanpur, Fashion, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye and Mumbai Meri Jaan.

Akshay Kumar drops to number six this year despite the triumph of Singh is Kinng, one spot behind Karan Johar who has had a quiet year with just one movie. Akshay is followed at seven by the multi-talented Farhan Akhtar who has suddenly become a big player in the industry. At number eight is A R Rahman and at nine, Hrithik Roshan. Kareena Kapoor is the first woman on the list at number 10.

Of course, lists like these will always be fairly subjective – where are the Bachchans for example – and it would be interesting to hear from you as to what you feel are the ten most powerful people in Bollywood!
