Rumors abound that Bollywood big hitter Aamir Khan will soon be signing an international project. According to Femalefirst, the film is based on Saadat Hasan Manto’s short story satire Toba Tek Singh and will be directed by India-born filmmaker Pan Nalin. The film is set in an insane asylum in 1947 during the Partition and Aamir will take on the role of one of the inmates of the asylum. Aamir is supposedly very keen to play the role of Bishan Singh and was very impressed with the script.
That is part of the exciting news, the other is who may co-star with him in the film. None other than last year’s Oscar Best Actress winner Kate Winslet. Another name being linked to the project as a possibility to play the doctor at the hospital Dr Sophie is beauty Rachel Weisz. Director Nalin said, “Either Kate or Rachel will be doing my film. I will be meeting both of them after my Cannes trip to finalise the casting. Either of them will be able to do justice to this marvelous story.”
