Coming up December 3rd is master director Ashutosh Gorwariker’s next film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey starring Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. The film is a period thriller about the Chittagong Uprising of 1930 and is based on the book Do and Die by Manini Chatterjee. Though we will not see the final product until December we have been getting sneak peeks into the film and Ashutosh himself came on the official KHJJS Facebook group and Twitter to tell fans about Abhishek’s character Surjya Sen.

Check out what he wrote:
Hi everyone, this is Ashutosh Gowariker wishing you a great 63rd year of Independence! What better moment to tell you more about Surjya Sen, the man who planned the Chittagong Uprising of 1930-the greatest revolutionary uprising against the British Empire in India’s history of the freedom struggle. As the leader of the Indian Republican Army he commanded respect from other revolutionary compatriots and teenagers alike.

A school teacher by profession, Surjya Sen was an inspiration to his students, so much so that the moniker ‘Masterda’ is attached to him to this day. He instilled an uncompromising desire for freedom and antipathy to British rule among all those he recruited. His own commitment to the revolution was absolute. He sacrificed his personal life, chose not to love or have a family so he could dedicate himself to the revolution.

I have been following up on the responses of all you guys since the launch of this page. I want to take this opportunity to thank you guys for all the support and wish to keep you updated more often with all the developments on the film.
