The script for Vipul Shah’s Namastey London has received a huge honor. The screenplay has been chosen to be part of the Academy Of Motion Pictures Library and will be available as a reference to cinema students.

Namastey London starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif was one of the most popular films of 2007. The screenplay seamed together beautifully a story filled with romance, comedy, touching moments and of course, songs.

The Academy requested that Vipul Shah send them the script so that it can be permanently kept in their collection. “More and more Bollywood films are on the international radar now. We didn’t make any particular attempts to reach out to the library but out the blue I received this call requesting for the script. They are now keeping track of what’s happening in the Indian motion picture scene,” said Shah

Other Hindi films are also in the collection including Lagaan, Devdas, Kal Ho Na Ho, Lage Raho Munnabhai to name a few. Besides these amazing films, the huge library also houses collections of books, periodicals, screenplays, photographs, manuscript and other special collections that include sheet music, music scores and sound recordings, production and costume sketches, artifacts, and oral histories.

It is a great honor for the wonderful screenplay of Namastey London to be part of such a prestigious library.
