After having arrived with a big bang in last year’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (director: Aditya Chopra), Anushka Sharma quickly disappeared. Rumours were afloat that she would only work with Yash Raj Films (YRF), but her latest project proves that she is open to all offers.

Sharma has just signed Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House opposite Akshay Kumar. She is currently shooting for a film with Shahid Kapur, produced by YRF.

“I have never met Akshay Kumar in my life and I’m going to be romancing him in my next project. I can’t tell you how excited I am. First I got to romance Shah Rukh, then Shahid and now Akshay. It is as if I’m walking on a cloud,” she told the Times of India.

She claims that she loved Advani’s script but waited a day or two to agree to be a part of the film because she didn’t want to be impulsive. Good move!

Unlike what the media has suggested, director Aditya Chopra has not acted as a mentor to Sharma and she claims they are not even good friends.

“Adi [Chopra] would hate it if I called him my mentor or godfather. He and I are not friends. He is someone I hold in high regard. He holds a special place for me forever because he gave me a break every girl can only dream of,” she says. She also admits that if she needed his opinion, he would be more than willing to help her out.

Here’s a girl who seems like she has her head planted firmly on her shoulders. Let’s see if she can live up to last year’s Rab Ne with her two upcoming releases.
