Following its acclaimed international festival run, I’m Not An Actor (Main Actor Nahin Hoon), starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Sacred Games) and Chitrangada Satarupa (Tikli and Laxmi Bomb), will have a UK wide release with Vue, Odeon and independent cinemas from 7 November 2025.

The India–Germany co-production has been Written, Directed and Produced by Aditya Kripalani and co-produced by Sweta Chhabria and Faizuddin Siddiqui. Associate Director Anuradha Pandey joined Kripalani in spearheading the production, which is backed under the banners of Side Hero Entertainment and Mumba Devi Motion Pictures. Aman Dhillon (ReelN Ltd), who is on board as an Associate Producer of the film, is also overseeing the UK distribution with consultant, Bhavna Mistry.

Shot live across India and Germany over 28 days, the film is the first of its kind in Indian cinema, placing its two leads in a continuous video call across continents. The result is an intimate, day-long conversation that blurs the boundaries between performance and reality, teacher and student, Mumbai and Frankfurt.

To mark its UK release, Kripalani and Chhabria will embark on a nationwide tour of screenings, Q&As and industry masterclasses across the country.

The tour begins on Monday 27 October with back-to-back engagements at the MetFilm Schools.

In the afternoon, the filmmakers will lead a masterclass at MetFilm School Leeds, followed by an evening session at MetFilm School Manchester, which will be hosted by Careers Manager Joe Morris. These sessions provide a rare opportunity for emerging filmmakers to engage directly with the creative team behind this boundary-pushing feature.

On Tuesday 28 October, the film will open the Bradford International Film Festival (BRADIFF) at Pictureville Cinema. Supported by the Bradford South Asian Film Festival (BSAFF), the UK premiere will be followed by a Q&A hosted by Aisha Khan (Co-Director, BSAFF). The visit continues Thursday 30 October with a special screening at SOAS University, London, in partnership with Bridge India, reflecting the film’s commitment to fostering dialogue with diverse communities across cultural and academic spaces.

Ahead of the tour and release, the team have expressed their excitement. Aditya Kripalani (Writer, Director) says:p, “We are thrilled that the film is releasing in theatres in the UK. I love going to England, we travel there every year. Also, the fact that it’s going to play in Vue and Odeon cinemas feels good, as we ourselves visit them to see films, and their locations are solid.”

Sweta Chhabria (Producer) adds: “Bringing I’m Not An Actor to UK cinemas is incredibly special. This film being shot live across two continents, in two such visually different landscapes, was like a dream for us and we’re thrilled to share this with UK audiences on the big screen, exactly where it was meant to be experienced.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Lead Actor) conveys: “We made this film with an international voice. Even the premise is universal. And so, we are happy that the film is releasing in theatres in the UK. We hope it strikes a chord with people living there. We keep our fingers crossed.”

Chitrangada Satarupa (Lead Actor) also says: “It feels surreal and joyous to know that our film I’m Not An Actor is releasing in the UK. The release of any film is a moment of immense joy for its cast and crew, but for it to travel overseas to a land I’ve yet to visit which makes it more special. The UK has always felt like a place that truly celebrates art, cinema, and creative expression. I’m thrilled and hopeful that our film will connect with its audiences there. Since our film is about acting, it feels meaningful for it to release here in the UK, which has such a rich and inspiring theatre tradition. My character in the film carries a soft spot for UK theatre, so in many ways, this release feels poetic and deeply personal.”
