After she missed the first of her two scheduled appointments at the 67th Cannes International Film Festival due to the air traffic control strike in France, the former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has arrived to the French Riviera, where she will be representing cosmetics brand L’Oréal Paris at the annual gala. She was also expected to walk the red carpet on Friday, but the delay with her flight made it impossible.
“We are sure she will dazzle as always,” Manashi Guha, general manager, L’Oréal Paris India, recently declared about the actress, who has been associated with the brand for over a decade.
Judging by the photos from Aishwarya’s first media interaction, the actress is ready to mesmerize everyone.
Aishwarya has recently been in the limelight, as director Sanjay Gupta recently announced that the actress, who has stayed away from films for a while, will be making her comeback with his film Jazbaa.
On the other hand, Aishwarya has also been in the news as rumours of crisis between the actress and Abhishek spread. Lehren Network recently reported that the couple were on the brink of divorce and pointed to Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya’s incompatibility as the cause of the crisis.
Although probably annoyed by the rumours that involve his wife and his mother, Abhishek chose Twitter to respond. “Ok…So I believe I’m getting divorced. Thanks for letting me know! Will you let me know when I’m getting re-married too? Thanks,” tweeted Abhishek.
Even Lehren website has retracted and cleared that it was all just a baseless rumour.
The Bachchans are constantly surrounded by rumours. Not for nothing are they considered the royals of Bollywood. If rumours pointed to crisis this time, few weeks ago the couple was rumoured to be expecting their second child.
Abhishek is expected to join his wife at Cannes to attend the event “Cinema against AIDS” on the 22nd. The couple will attend the event as the brand ambassador of amfAR (American Foundation for AIDS research).
