National Award Winning actor Akshay Kumar announced the launch date for the trailer of his much awaited social awareness film ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ on social media. This film spotlights the Indian government’s ‘Clean India – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign to improve the sanitation conditions in India, with an emphasis on reducing open defecation in public areas, especially in rural India.

Akshay Kumar took to twitter to officially announce the trailer launch date. He wrote, “Every house needs a TOILET, to know why catch us on June 11 with our film #ToiletEkPremKatha’s Trailer on @StarSportsIndia #TEPKTrailer11June”

Set to release worldwide on 11 August 2017 around India’s Independence day, the film also stars Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, along with Anupam Kher and Sana Khan in supporting roles.

After delivering a high profile roster of successful films in 2016 with Airlift to Rustom, and kick-starting 2017 with a bang with Jolly LL.B 2, one can safely say that Akshay Kumar is the most bankable star in India, winning both critical and audience acclaim.

At the recently concluded 64th National Film Awards, Akshay Kumar was conferred the Best Actor Award for his magnanimous role as Naval Commander Rustom Pavri in the 2016 crime thriller Rustom. Inspired by the 1959 Nanavati case, this Akshay Kumar starrer was a critically acclaimed and equally successful film.

Apart from Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming standout films include Pad Man and the mega budget sci-fi film 2.0 with Rajnikanth.
