Akshay Kumar is well known as a daredevil but he also has a softer side, especially when it comes to dealing with children. In fact, when he first heard the story of Sajid Khan’s Heyy Babyy he did not hesitate in the least bit to work with a child artiste and immediately said yes to the movie.
The movie, which is much like Hollywood’s Three Men and a Baby, has as its main characters a baby and 3 bachelors. It stars Akshay, Fardeen Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh and seven month old Juhaina who plays Angel in the film.
While shooting for the movie in Australia, Akki had to not only bring his acting skills out but his parenting skills as well. It is very difficult to work with a baby on the sets and Juhaina would sometimes cry for hours because of being startled by the lights, or by all the strange people on the set. If that wasn’t bad enough, the bechaari started teething.
That is when Akshay the parent would come and help. If Akki lifted Juhaina on his lap, started to tell her stories and just rock her, the adorable girl would calm down in just a few minutes. How sweet!
Both Fardeen and Ritesh were very impressed with how Akki was with the child. The director said in one interview that at first Fardeen was very uncomfortable with the baby (they even have photos!) but then after they plunked her down with him and Ritesh, they both bonded with Juhaina.
Heyy Babyy also stars Vidya Balan and there have been rumors of a special appearance by Shahrukh Khan, but for that we will have to wait and watch.
