Just a fortnight remains for the release of Rustom, easily one of the most awaited films of the season, and the makers are indeed a happy lot as the countdown begins for its arrival. While the promo did the trick by immediately attracting audience attention, the songs have done well too to keep the interest alive for the film which is pitched as a unique romantic-musical-suspense thriller.
No wonder, the makers of Rustom [KriArj Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Essel Vision Productions Ltd, A Friday Filmworks] are a happy lot that their confidence in the film’s subject and faith they put in Akshay Kumar’s credentials as a superstar actor have paid off in a big way.
Says Virender Arora of KriArj Entertainment, “Rustom is a clear reflection of the superb choices that Akshay is making as an actor. You can see that he is bringing in a lot of variation in the characters he is playing. He is enacting more and more challenging roles. I am sure he keeps getting so many film offers practically every day. Still, he not just chose to act in Rustom but also came on board as one of the producers [Cape of Good Films].”
The film has names like Neeraj Pandey, Shital Bhatia, Aruna Bhatia, Nittin Keni, Akash Chawla, Girish Johar and Ishwar Kapoor stepping into the production team, hence lending it further weight and credibility.
Says Akash Chawla of Essel Vision, “With Akshay, you know what you would get, and that too in quick time. He is one of those rare superstars who does a film from start to finish in three months flat. When your actor is so organized, as a production team it becomes your responsibility as well to keep everything intact and align all right resources at the right time and right place.”
Rustom, as is the case with most Akshay Kumar films, has also been wrapped up in record time. In news ever since it went on floors and the announcement done in style in an awards function where Akshay Kumar performed to the theme song from the film, Rustom has managed to create excitement amongst all age groups.
“This is what makes is confident that Rustom is the hottest film amongst audiences,” says Arjun N. Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment, “Akshay’s judgment is very correct and his choices are quite amazing. What has made us so happy about our association with him is the fact that Akshay has been so sure about the film from the very first day since he started shooting for it. The indications were all there when he came on board after reading the script. However, ever since he stepped on the sets, he has mentioned it time and again, either through words or acts, that he is happy with the way Rustom is shaping up.”
With the film finding good hype coming its way with every passing day and the buzz only expected to increase in fortnight to come, guess audience is in for a treat once Rustom releases all over on 12th August.
