In its third week of release, super-hit film Housefull 2: The Dirty Dozen has crossed over Rs.100 Crore, covering domestic and overseas markets. In Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is now one of the few stars to carry the 100 Crore badge along with Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgan.

With Housefull 2: The Dirty Dozen entering the DabanggBodyguardSingham 100 Crore club, Akshay Kumar is the talk of B-town. An excited Sajid Khan, who directed the film, tweeted to his fans: “All screens are going Housefull. I attribute a major part of its success to Akshay. He has been a superstar for the last eight years or so and will be one for many more years to go. The best thing about the film is that Akshay’s work has been appreciated and this film is Akshay’s biggest hit overseas.”

Apart from making waves with Akshay’s fans in India, Housefull 2: The Dirty Dozen is also dominating the US markets – with takings of $847,132 the film becomes one of the top 10 films in North America, competing with Titanic 3D and Mirror Mirror.

With the success of Housefull 2,  Akshay tweeted to his fans “For all those congratulating me for Housefull 2, honestly 100 Crores is just a number but I’d be lying if I would say it doesn’t matter. Hearing/reading words like superhit, excellent business, great word of mouth, back in form, are music to any actor’s ears but again you guys are the only reason behind it. Thank you all for watching and enjoying Housefull 2. God bless you all always”.

Akshay Kumar’s next starrer is the all-action drama Rowdy Rathore, and with initial projections for this film being positive, it seems that ‘Akki’ is onto a second century at the global box office.
