Directed by Siddharth Anand and starring the Shah Rukh Khan, King is I think, it is needless to say, the most highly anticipated films of 2026. Still in production and with a story still to be revealed we do know the cast includes Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Akshay Oberoi and Suhana Khan who is making her theatrical debut.
Recently Akshay Oberoi, who has constantly strived and has continued his rise in garnering bigger and bigger projects earlier revealed his thoughts about being cast in the film, “My checklist is complete now that I’ve got the chance to work in a King Khan film and share screen space with him. Growing up, Shah Rukh Khan has been one of my biggest inspirations not just as an actor, but as someone who redefined charisma and hard work in Indian cinema. To be a part of a film that stars him feels surreal. I’ve admired his discipline, his energy, and his generosity as a performer for years, and to finally experience that in person is something I’ll always cherish. Also, Sid and Mamta are like family to me now in this industry and when Siddharth called me to be part of this magnum opus, I had to jump in and immediately said yes. My association with them is truly special. I’m soaking in every moment and learning as much as I can from him on set.”
He recently elaborated even more saying that it is a dream come true playing a part in a Shah Rukh Khan movie, “Being part of a Shah Rukh Khan film genuinely feels like a dream come true. As an actor who has grown up watching his films, admiring his journey, and being inspired by his incredible body of work, just being associated with one of his projects is incredibly special.”
With nothing but admiration for SRK, he said “Shah Rukh Khan is not just a superstar; he is an institution in himself. His discipline, humility, and professionalism are truly unmatched, and it’s unbelievable how grounded he remains even after decades of ruling hearts across the globe. His contribution to cinema over the past several decades is phenomenal, and being connected to that legacy, even in a small way, feels extremely rewarding.”
Adding, “Working on a project headlined by Shah Rukh Khan holds immense value for me. This is one of his biggest films, and to be part of that world, to witness the scale, the energy, and the commitment that goes into creating something of this magnitude, is a huge learning experience. It motivates you to raise your own standards and give your absolute best.”
