Here is some very intriguing and exciting film news! It has been confirmed by director Ali Abbas Zafar that he will be making Mr India. What is even cooler is that it won’t be just one film, it will be a trilogy.

Ali Zabbas Zafar wrote on Twitter, “Excited to partner with @ZeeStudios_ for an epic trilogy #MrIndia!”

Of course, the original and iconic 1987 film Mr India directed by Shekhar Kapoor starred Anil Kapoor, SriDevi and Amrish Puri. From what we have learned so far this will not be a remake or a sequel, but a film that takes the story forward – a re-imagination of the character and the Mr India tale.

He went on to reveal that he feels a huge responsibility towards the film and the character that was originally portrayed by Anil Kapoor. “It is a huge responsibility to carry forward an iconic character loved by everyone.”

The script is currently still in the writing stage with the first draft set to be finalized.

Of course, the big question is who will star in this epic. Well, we will all have to patiently or impatiently wait and watch because he revealed, “No actor has been locked till now. Once we lock the first draft of the script, casting begins!”

Apparently, Zee Studios plans to mount the film on a massive scale and one of the biggest spectacle films that has been made to date. The film is scheduled to go to the floor early next year.

Stay tuned! You can be sure we will keep you in the know about this new project!
